At the IATEFL Conference we had a great pleasure to debate with Monika Bigaj-Kisała (http://thatisevil.wordpress.com), Roman Ociepa and the audience about teaching with or without coursebook. As you can probably guess we were advocates of replacing coursebook with lessons based on authentic materials. Monika argued for introducing role-playing games. Since Hugh Dellar wasn’t able to attend the debate, Roman Ociepa, who organised and moderated the event, challenged us three with tricky questions.
